When was the last time you ever really gave any thought to the use of your bedside tables? Have you ever really given it much thought at all? Chances are you have not, and that seems normal. These are fairly tame pieces of furniture for sure.
But it is a pretty sure bet to assume that there is at least on in your room right at this moment. What are you doing with it? Can you be doing more? It seems that with some ingenuity and imagination, a nice normal bedside table could be an exciting piece of furniture. At the very least it can do more than collect dust.
Lamp Tables With Drawers
Probably the biggest prop, and most commonly used item, on your table is an alarm clock. Now consider this utilitarian device for a moment. Do you hate yours? Do you want to destroy it every morning when its horrific tones beckon you to begin a brand new day? Then replace it now, and get something beautiful and kind to your system. That is a fine beginning.
As for the new tables themselves, you can never go wrong with oak bedside tables. They can be beautiful additions to any room, and perform many necessary functions. The solidity and strength of such tables will come in handy, too, believe that, so go ahead and get two.
So, you now have a decent alarm clock and a nice new piece of furniture or two. What to do with all of that sturdy storage space? Begin by stacking a few books on top. These will make you look all educated and sophisticated and stuff. You may even impress somebody with bit fat books with Latinate titles on them. You might even begin to read them on those long nights when you cannot fall asleep.
Be sure to get some additional drawer space going on, too. You can stash your reading glasses in there, as well as anything you do not want any snooping sneak to take a peek at. Get the kind with drawers that lock, and eliminate any problems that way. And set out a nice crystal glass for water at night, using a coaster of course, and you are looking better all of the time.
For all of that serious reading you are now going to do, put a high quality table lamp on top of the thing. Use a good bulb, and use a good solid style fixture. When you are fumbling around with that little lock, you do not want to be knocking everything over in the dark. And you will need good light to read by, the doctors all say so.
Okay, so what you really want are bedside tables that are big enough for another television set. Fine, the same principles apply. But try the books out first, and see if you cannot improve your image, if not you mind, just a little bit with the ingenuity of such a minor piece of furniture.
